• i did mostly realbooking, playing the 5th edition. i see the leadsheets as the playing field, setting the rules for the next game, connecting the players.
• the new real books, with the perfected typography is less readable ... maybe i am not used to
• the "New Standards" has even lighter type setting ... and the new tunes have longer forms.

that jam sessions in the proximity of an educational institute are frequented by students of the same course. Being told by there teacher to try tunes in the public. Juniors do not dare and seniors stop playing for free ...

therefore the tunes stay the same till the teacher retires.

playing was nice and talks were better ... sorrily wednesdays aren't possible for me in the near future ...

To make something well is to give yourself to it, to ssek wholeness, to follow spirit.

 puts up the question why should one want to make something not well ... and while we are at it, why are so many doing this.

an non place in my understanding is a place of transfer, transistion.
when cities grow the street as a place of life and communication transforms to the place of transport, transfer.

this talk suggest transforming it back and a way of trying it.

although, accepting the permanence of change, means accepting that one's location is always in a non place, somehow.

muku jam session

friday december 1. jam session in der alten gerberei in st.johann in tirol.

very little ... actually no jazz at all, it is pop cover and blues, mostly guitar players.
but a great venue, nice poeple and if someone is in the mood even jazz is possible.

i took "coming of age in samoa" from the pile of books to be dumped in our library and read it sometime later. As remote, copyright 1928, samoa, as this seams ... it was not !

Chapter 13. Our educational problems in the light of samoan contrast, tries to get a view on ourselves from outside.

Describing Mead's picture of postfigurative, cofigurative and prefigurative cultures.

• Postfigurative means post the figuration phase of a culture, living on like the elders.
• Cofigurative is teaching the siblings to live in a changing world.
• Prefigurative means, no one knows what will come, what will work. So parents and teachers, the middle generation, needs to find the ways together with the peoples of tomorrow, their kids, maybe still unborn.

the red books are feldenkrais, long since i bought them, rereading. trying to find hints how to go on, although optimistic is another world. but not seeing what is means going wrong.
